My interests focus on understanding how macro- and microorganisms distribute and interact with others and their environment. As an undergraduate student, I studied the population genetics of iconic species from Ecuador. During my master’s degree, I studied the dynamics of phage predation within biofilms and their potential for disruption of such protected bacterial communities using Vibrio spp. as a study model. My doctoral research in Prof. Le Roux’s laboratory focuses on the genetic and evolutionary bases of phage-Vibrio interactions in nature. Outside of the laboratory, I like hiking, traveling, paddle tennis, and craft beer.
